@iamteriraynor: gary, indiana has been without power for nearly two weeks. let that sink in. families are losing food. businesses are losing income. people are struggling to charge their phones, keep their homes cool, and access basic necessities. and yes, a severe storm caused the initial damage. but the bigger question is: why does recovery look so different for different communities? gary is a predominantly black city that has experienced decades of economic disinvestment. when infrastructure fails, the consequences don’t fall evenly. this isn’t just about electricity. it’s about infrastructure. it’s about economic inequality. it’s about government accountability. and it’s about whether our communities are being prepared for the future. we need to be paying attention. #empower25 #garyindiana #infrastructure #economicinequality #communityinvestment

I was without power this week in my small neighborhood for 13 hours and about lost my mind. These people can’t get ice, food, phone service, medical devices for 2 weeks! This is devastating!

Why is there no power. Storm or other reason. Not mentioned on the news. No Red Cross or call for help by the governor? This shows we as Black peoples need to vote in November and eliminate this entire administration

Shine a light on it!! People need access to refrigeration for things other than just food, medications, breast milk, etc are part of people's livelihood. Is totally unacceptable!

Yeah, while you’re doing this video, there are dozens of communities and towns that are going through two week plus due to fire storm with no answer so it sucks but it’s a countrywide problem resources. Good luck hope it comes on, but you’re not alone.

this conversation is bigger than politics. storms happen. infrastructure fails. but what happens next matters too.
how prepared are our communities? how quickly are residents getting help? who is accountable when basic services aren’t restored for days or weeks?
i want to hear what y’all think.

People caring about this situation is irrelevant as we have zero capability to change it. Gary, Indiana, is the unfortunate area devastated by a STORM! This is NOT a staged event, Friend. Nobody had to point fingers in 2011 when it took THREE WEEKS to restore power at our house after 72 tornadoes ravaged our state in one day and destroyed electrical infrastructure. Nobody has to "pay" for this unless you figure out how to get cash out of Mother Nature. The area should've been more prepared for possible long term power outages. Victimhood Olympics! I suggest stop electing corrupt DemocRATs to office and then playing the blame game!
