Litter tray needs regular cleaning not just emptying. he can smell the scent. sometimes there's high levels of ammonia in urine

The litter tray is dirty, they won’t use it if it’s not cleaned out properly - their noses are a lot more sensitive than ours. Definitely needs more litter in there as well…

They won’t poo in tray if the litter is dirty they will then go outside the box , i clean my littler tray every 2 days because this was happening me 🥰

try put more litter in the tray and change it cats are very fussy why so kids think cleaning up after the animals is our job🤷♂️it not ok 🥰x

Mine usd to do this at the start and I changed the litter box and he was fine then it could be stress or maybe didn’t make it to the litter box in time happened me last week everyone loves having a cat until this happens or the litter box needs to be cleaned 🙄😂

Did u change the litter. Put him back on the wood clippings sometimes when you change the brand of texture of litter they don’t like it

If it's not being cleaned out enough, cats won't want to use it so they'll go outside. There also could be underlying health issues too if it starts happening regularly definitely take him to the vet.
