@crmnallyobsessed: KAREN SOLOMON UPDATE: Police say human remains believed to be those of 58-year-old Karen Solomon were discovered Monday near Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. Two hospital employees reported finding the remains after an intensive search involving local, state and federal agencies, drones, boats and tracking dogs. Authorities believe the death of Karen's longtime police officer husband, Kurt Soloman, and the discovery of the remains believed to be hers are the result of a murder-s*icide. Karen had been missing since her 31-year Worcester Police veteran husband was found dead inside their home last Tuesday. Investigators later named Karen a suspect and warned that she was believed to be armed. Doorbell footage released during the search showed Karen walking down a street in a T-shirt, shorts and flip-flops just minutes after officers responded to the couple’s home and discovered Kurt’s body. Police say a handgun was recovered near the remains, although investigators are still working to determine who owned the weapon. Final identification is pending, but police say they are confident the remains are Karen’s. The case drew additional attention because Karen was a longtime advocate for first responder mental health. She co-founded First H.E.L.P., an organization focused on reducing the stigma surrounding mental health struggles among first responders and honoring those who died by s*icide. She also wrote two books about the physical and psychological experiences of first responders.
