One of my most magical murals to date ✨ I had the pleasure to be hired as a muralist for the brand new Willow Children's Centre opening in Richmond (SRCC). I was given the task to paint a willow tree to give life to a grey and dull hallway. And in only 5 and a half days I was able to create this sweeping weeping willow that grows from one side of the wall and completely takes over the ceiling and the other side of the wall. 🌳 While weeping willows aren’t native to BC, many have been planted through the Vancouver region and lower mainland. I also made sure to add life to this mural by painting some native species in the Richmond areas. The animals illustrated in this mural is the belted kingfisher, yellow warbler, raccoons, barred owl, and oyster mushrooms. 🍄 This was the first time I had painted on a ceiling and I will say it was probably the most taxing on my body, but I’m happy to finally have a rest!
