@jmk.info: According both ancient and modern studies, Attila and the Huns were White people, not Mongolic Asians. There were both a Westphalian group and a Southern Russian group called Huns, and both were Germanic people. Telegram backup: thegreatjohannes
The Huns tended to be around 1/4 Mongolian. They were largely White, but they had mixed with Mongolians while back east.

Lord Ghoul IV :
I always assumed the Huns were a related steppe nomad group similar to the scythian or sarmatian tribes like the Roxolani, Iazyges, Boudini, or Alans or even a divergent of one of them. I'd say the Huns started off as mongolic east Asian, but as they migrated, they absorbed or became absorbed into other cultures/ethnicities. Such examples you mentioned like the Germanics tribes or my examples. I'd like to think the Huns much like the other tribes, such as the Germanic Cherusci who rallied their neighboring Germanic tribes into fighting the Romans. I think the Huns were a federation or confederation of tribes consisting of Germanic, steppe nomad, proto-slavic, and a mixture. I could be wrong, but look at the Mongols who incorporated other people into their military such as Chinese engineers who built their siege equipment. Although what about the Hepthalites (white huns) or kidarites, or the Indian Huns? Are these the same as the European huns or different?

Bede also said Scots descended from Scythians, which sounds like a stretch until you realize that the Cherchen Man mummy in the Tarim basin is the oldest example of Tratan patterning. That, mind you, found nowhere else, but there central Europe, and obviously Scotland

Idk but Germanics were an important part of the Hun war machine. When Atilla was gonna invade Italy he needed a valid reason as not to drive away Germanic allies. He had Germanic advisors and he spoke fluent Germanic.

A 2025 study analyzed 371 ancient individuals from the Carpathian Basin from the late Roman through early medieval periods. Twenty-six had a substantial eastern Eurasian or steppe-associated genetic component. Ten people came from burials with eastern-style archaeological features associated with Hunnic-period elites; eight of those ten had clear eastern genetic affinities. Several of these people shared unusually long DNA segments with high-status individuals from the Xiongnu Empire in Mongolia, including members of an elite Xiongnu cemetery. Long shared segments indicate relatively recent common ancestors across the historical time depth separating the Xiongnu and European Huns. The study places a chain of descent and migration between the Xiongnu political world and part of the European Hun elite.

It's said that the Norse / Norwegian name Atle, is derived from Atilla.
Atle is also said to mean "Little father" as you said.
I named my son Tor - Atle.

But didn’t they travel to East Asia to harass the Han Dynasty which led to them building the Great Wall? After that the Huns moved father west and started Harassing the Romans

I just don't understand why some people need to weave everything into some kind of all-encompassing ever-present conspiracy by white people against everyone else. There are a lot of theories about the origin of the Huns with probably some truth in all of them. Just stop with the race baiting already.
