I suppose this comes back to us just outsourcing our carbon. A data centre in the US doesn’t count toward our emissions, but if we’re using it then it’s the same as being here. Data centres aren’t just AI, and not all AI is the same. So it’s a fairly complicated question. I would ask why we’re not asking these data centres to install as much solar as possible - maybe we are?
