I’ve been a Physical Therapist for 33 years. The discipline has deteriorated so much the last 10 years. It now cost $250,000 to get a doctorate in physical therapy. These kids will never pay off these loans, buy a home, and pay for 2 children to go to college. FYI both my kids (28 and 30) became engineers, had children and bought a home.

Honestly, nursing fucking blows. However. I work 12 days a month. I get paid a pretty decent wage, but yeah it’s all bullshit. I’m over the whole compassion bs, it’s a fucking job just like any other.

Honestly, I think people need to know the reality. It isn’t like on TV, it isn’t like in the books, it’s real life. Nothing could ever truly prepare you, but we owe it to the new generation to show them the best we can.

I’ve been a nurse less than two years. In March I got a TBI from a patient. While processing for a new job in July I found out I have latent tuberculosis. Nursing is a hellscape.

The problem is they talk about money and romanticize nursing without talking about any of the actual job. Plus depending on where you live—money sucks.

I was a nurse for 40 years and loved it til I didn’t!! I don’t think I would do it again with all the physical damage I’ve acquired. Mentally very hard as well.
