You’re never technically alone. There’s always a baby. Someone to feed. Someone to cuddle. Someone who needs you. And yet, somehow, motherhood can feel incredibly lonely. Especially in the quiet moments. When the house is silent. When your partner is asleep. When your friends are asleep. When you’re sitting in the dark at 3am with a baby in your arms and wondering if you’re the only person in the world still awake. I’ve had nights where the loneliness felt heavier than the exhaustion. Not because I didn’t love my baby. I loved him more than I could ever explain. But loving someone completely doesn’t mean you never need connection with someone else. Sometimes you just need another person to understand. Another mum who knows what it’s like to be awake for the fourth time. Another mum who knows what it’s like to stare at the clock and wonder how you’re going to function tomorrow. Another mum who doesn’t need an explanation because she’s living it too. That’s what those little lights mean to me. They’re not just dots on a screen. They’re tiny reminders that behind every one is another mum doing her best. Feeding. Rocking. Pumping. Cuddling. Crying. Laughing. Trying again. And sometimes, just seeing them is enough. Because the night hasn’t changed. The baby still needs me. I’m still tired. Morning is still coming far too slowly. But I don’t feel quite as alone. And maybe that’s what mums need sometimes. Not another solution. Not another opinion. Just a little light in the dark that says: I’m here too. 💛 #newmom #momlife #postpartum #motherhood #momcommunity
