I don’t refer to myself as a slave to God because God wouldn’t want me to do so, there is SO MUCH scripture that emphasizes how much God respects our ability to determine who we are and what we do, what he wants from us is for US to CHOOSE to love and follow him if he wanted us to be slaves to him he would have 1. Said to us that we are his slaves and 2. Created us without free will so that we would be ENTIRELY DEPENDENT on God

So, what I'm hearing is chattel slavery is just another tool the devil uses to confuse and divert ppl from Christ Jesus?(rhetorical) Interesting, I never really considered that. I knew chattel slavery is evil, but I didn't realize it has a misconception attached to it that can potentially influence a person's belief in God. Interesting.....

Also, in the Jewish tradition, didn't the "shmita" year also include releasing the slaves therefore making the longest time a person could be a slave 7 years? Please correct me if I don't quite have that right.
