It started in 1943 when a local farmer noticed a stone in the shape of Denmark. He put it on the frozen lake and after the winter the stone remained in the shallow water. During the twenty years that followed, he continued to build his world map until it was completed in 1969. As an adult you unfortunately have to include the children's park. For 12 euros you can see the world map, a petting zoo, a playground and a sad mini golf course.

Built entirely by hand by a local Danish farmer named Søren Poulsen. Poulsen worked on this massive project for 25 years between 1944 and his death in 1969.

Its not in the middle of nowhere, its in Denmark and was build near the town of Hobro in Denmark by Soeren Poulsen between 1944 and 1969.
