#country #Recipe #food #tomato #Southern. Dice up one onion, one green pepper, and 1 cup of celery. Cook veg on high heat with 4 tbs of real butter for 5 min or until onions are translucent . Add 2 14 oz cans of diced tomatoes. Stir and bring to a boil. Add salt and pepper. Add 1 teaspoon of granulated onion and teaspoon of natures season if you have it. Add a little less than 1/2 cup of white sugar. Stir well. Turn down heat to low. Make a slurry by mixing 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water and 2 teaspoons of vinegar. Mix those until cornstarch is dissolved. Add slurry to pan and stir until just thickened. Not too long but just until noted thickening. Taste and season with salt and pepper to your taste. Pour in casserole dish. Top with crackers topping, bread crumbs, toast torn into crumbs or whatever else suites your fancy. Bake uncovered at 350 for 40 to 45 min . Enjoy
