if you rewatch it as you get older it's better because you realize how deep it is. if you watch it as an 8 year old child you're most likely watching because the characters are funny and the fight scenes look cool.

I get the whole nostalgia filter getting in the way of shows you watched as a kid but avatar the last air bender and original yugioh will always have some of the best storyline telling of any "cartoon" of that generation i can and do watch them as an adult for the story yeah they had child themes and humor within the shows but both did a great job of balancing their shows to where the whole family could enjoy it

It’s an ageless show. You get different things out of it at different ages. It grows with you. As a child (funny flashing lights good vs evil) as an adult (guilt, genocide, war, generational trauma, spirituality, nature, industrialization, and much more)
