Playing a set character is just like playing a module in D&D. Having a set backstory will increase the story's weight and stakes. I hope they do the class features & vibes well. If they do then I'd say they did good.

Almost everyone in this comment section is insufferable. This game is not trying to reproduce the experience of playing tabletop D&D. It’s an adventure game set in the Forgotten Realms - and that’s FINE.

This is a game using D&D LORE people. This isn't a D&D game. If you want one, there's several already. BG3 should still be going strong too. Or just play the TTRPG. This is a game using the setting of the lore of D&D, to make something different.

Don't get why everyone's so pressed about it not being an RPG. Most of the Warhammer games aren't strategy games. It's a setting, there's plenty of DnD rpgs available already.

DnD is a creative universe, not a game type. Just like warhammer, we should be glad to have takes on it in different mediums, even if they aren’t ones we’re personally interested in.
