This is good and bad. It sets a precedent; this should have been the full game. Now companies will release the game essentially two times to milk sales and get a game out faster. First: release the beta as the full game, full price, use the audience to playtest and keep fixing bugs / adding QOL features. Next, 6 months later, release the full game and call it a free update, but it now seems like so much “more”content (content that should have existed at launch) so new people will buy it that were previously on the fence. It doesn’t charge people again that already bought it but it’s a strategy that acts as a mask to cover up a terrible dev cycle + simultaneously farm new sales.
