I have highschoolers too. just graduated my 12th grader! it's just different seasons and one day you look back and find this one to be so fun too.

I feel this in my soul this year! I have a 12 year-old and eight year-old and this is the first year she’s going into a school/co-op three days a week. They are both in competitive soccer and I was so emotional the other day just thinking about all those slow mornings and not having to drive anywhere. Homeschool is the best and it’s so fun that we can change and pivot at any moment what works for our family?

I get it, and I identify 100%! My oldest daughter graduates this year, I have a 10th grade son, and a seventh grade daughter… they are all teenagers and it is overwhelming and exciting at the same time! You are right on. You are the chauffeur and facilitator and sounding board. It’s such a beautiful privilege and an honor I would not trade the world for. 🥰🙏🏻 I’m so thankful for the freedom to homeschool… and I definitely appreciate our homeschooling community of co-ops and tutorials that are available.

6th grade, 4th grade, and preschool this year. It’s still fun but it’s definitely different than the younger years with the older 2. I hate being SO busy. 😭 I also feel bad that my toddler is missing out on the slower days 😭 he’s thrown into this chaos lol but he thrives on the go and he’s super social so, that’s a plus 😅

I feel the same way! I have a 9th grader and a 6th grader and it has been kind of tough adjusting to the changes but I still wouldn’t trade it.

Thank you for sharing this. We actually decided against co-ops this year for this reason. We can manage being busy, but we all feel better when we cut out the constant running around. I know it isn’t realistic for everyone, but I’m looking forward to reclaiming some of our morning time again, even with a high schooler. They still do sports and work or volunteer opportunities.

Yes! It is so hard. We are on our 4th year, and the fact that my oldest was in 5th when we started and now in 8th and the fact it went by so fast. It’s hard. I have a K, 3rd, 6th and 8th graders this year…. The chauffeur is SO relatable. Our older two are in SAR and now Archery that meet 2:30-4 every Tues/Wed, & our 13 yr old volunteers every Friday at our library as well. I miss our fun Fridays where we would go out to places like Brazos Bend State Park and hike and look for gators.

I’m right there with you. I have a freshman and a 6th grader and the freshman is taking some CTE classes in person this year and I’m researching tech schools and apprenticeships. It’s crazy.
