the only things i needed was my fan, heating pad, egg lamp (these were used every single minute i was in the hospital). the only clothes i wore while i was there was a nursing bra and then my clothes i went home in (then obviously toiletries and stuff for baby)

I’ll tell you what I’m packing for my second (after overpacking for my first & not touching half of it) - makeup, toiletries, adult diapers(my hospital had all the other postpartum products for me but I didn’t love the mesh undies), 2 long phone chargers, pjs & simple going home outfit(I didn’t change out of hospital gown til day we left), shower shoes, cheap black towels, our own pillows & blankets for after delivery (w cheap pillow cases), a couple newborn outfits, announcement sign, baby blanket, electronic nail file, portable sound machine & egg light, document folder bc I have forms I need filled out for work by the doctor. I have a pre-delivery bag w/toiletries&makeup, kindle & Nintendo switch, chargers, & anything else I think I’ll need/want before delivery. Everything else is going in suitcase that can be brought in when we move to postpartum room!

Everyone makes it seems like you have to bring soooo much. After taking a postpartum/ newborn care class at my hospital. The nurse told us not to bring any postpartum stuff minus a better peribottle and that’s it. Same with baby stuff just his clothes. Because they have everything (and in the brand I liked) haven’t given birth yet but I’m trusting the nurse of 36 years

hospitals do have different items but honestly they have so much postpartum care & baby items. i brought a satin pillowcase & pillow, my own blanket. comfortable PP clothes, long charger, boppy if you’re breastfeeding. don’t forgot going home outfit for baby, that’s truly all you need & then outfits & birthsign for pictures!

honestly bring comfortable clothes to go home in and I would bring stuff to shower at the hospital, as well as stuff that your using if your breast feeding the baby

Clothes for you dad and baby, shoes/ shower shoes, grippy socks, blankets for you and baby just one should be fine, swaddle, peri bottle, document folder, charger and fan, those are the basics but your only there 24 hours of all goes well !

I promise less is more- coming from a mom who had 3 under 3 🥰 they have all postpartum care you need. Just bring a robe for you for after baby or a set of comfy pj's, a going home outfit, a going home outfit for baby and anything you want for fresh 48 pics. camera, brush, deodorant, makeup (if wanted for pics).

The medicine they give you to go to the “bathroom” after have your baby is weak. It can be painful. I brought milk or magnesia to the hospital IYKYK. I learned this from another mom and it was a game changer for my 3rd baby.
