@ellen__jones: My career as a writer wasn’t borne out of grief but my god it was fuel to the fire. I wonder sometimes if people know the grief I still feel about their death. It was only four years ago, that isn’t that long. Living together with someone in lockdown was intense. I have a phone of photos I can’t open. I still know their supermarket and takeout orders. Not learning of their death till months after they were buried and via of all things social media was a particular kind of hell. Telling their queer and trans chosen family across the world the same news was devastating. There will probably be people who don’t know still. Queer trans disabled people like them deserved so much better. They’d probably laugh my book is in part dedicated to them. Mourn the dead, fight like hell for the living. #Grief #Queer #LGBTQ #Trans
