How did Patrick know she crushed the pills?! If he only took 2 steps into the room and then ran outside to find her on the ground… and then the police arrived while he was outside with her and he said stay here I’m gonna go check on the kids (in the basement) and finds them. When did he go back and investigate the bedroom to find crushed pills? And why was he able to ‘investigate’ an active crime scene alone instead of the police starting their investigation/collecting evidence? How was he allowed to go back up to the room with the blood spatter and crushed pill cocktail and touch/ look at things so closely so as to discover pill residue in the bottom of a ‘lemonade’ and how did he even know it was lemonade if that’s not something they typically had in the home? Did he taste it?

Today’s witness made reference that the pills being crushed proved she was in her right mind and planned it out because it’s nearly impossible to crush pills and took a great deal of effort (paraphrasing). First thing I thought of is I used to do it all the time for my kids with 2 spoons, and still do it for my cat. It’s easy, but if it was as difficult as he said I’d be wondering as a juror why she’d go through all that time and trouble when she could just swallow them. I’d think someone else must have crushed those pills to hide them in a drink
