Because they already don Lemans/WEC, they haven’t done F1 since they are named auto union. Also putting up a racing team is expensive let alone putting an F1 and a WEC team in this economy.

VW group wanted Porsche to join at first but it didn’t work out so they switched their plan. Also is rumored that the Lambo was the car developed by Audi for WEC

They clearly did it for profits and money but also i think they just got bored. Now as the days go buy I know they regret it financially but surely they gotta believe they can win a constructors if they’ve gone down this route

Probably has to do with VW Group itself. While Porsche isn’t in WEC now, their program is still continuing in IMSA WSC, and I think VW doesn’t want the 2 to compete again, but rather cover different sectors. Weird but my guess
