The United states imports 20 to 30% of the beef we eat every single month of every single year for decades. If you eat lean ground beef, it is more like 60%. The United States used to require grocery stores to put a cool label on these products. Country of origin. This way consumers knew where it came from. But Obama didn’t think that was important and canceled it. That’s right liberals, the whole time you’re crying about beef coming from Argentina, you have been eating it from different countries this whole time. For decades.

As a DVM in rural USA - Chloramphenicol should not be detected in beef, including beef from Argentina, where its use in food-producing animals is also prohibited. This has been in law since the 80s due to its risk of causing idiosyncratic aplastic anemia in humans. Because there is no acceptable chloramphenicol residue in food animals and modern confirmatory testing is highly specific, even a very low confirmed concentration is concerning rather than something that can be dismissed as a normal trace residue. For Argentine beef specifically, a positive result raises questions about prohibited drug use, contamination, traceability, and the effectiveness of that exporter’s residue-control program; it does not automatically mean all Argentine beef is unsafe, but it is a legitimate red flag for the implicated shipment and supply chain. Current evidence suggests the risk to U.S. consumers is low, but the finding still justifies scrutiny because the implicated Argentine supply chain can export beef to the U.S.

We have enough land and farmer and cattle ranchers to supply the U.S. with real food. I get not allowing medicines and such in the animas blood stream if it can harm folks makes sense. But wasting port fees and shipping feees that we can have driven safely to us seems like a smarter choice

Why are there subsidies for grain farmers not cattlemen… want to make America great want to build America make the farmers ranchers and small guy strong… stop helping the wrong people… other countries… I was told that 5.30 diesel is a sacrifice… with the Iran war… now all this we need to stop helping others and help ourselves… we are tired of politics… beef prices may lull but will come back higher … the people making policy never pulled a calf to get it to market to survive another year … the beef coming in is crap scraps and is a drop in the bucket … thank you
