We were told to get rid of our hallway beds by the joint commission, which is the regulatory body, and then immediately the next week the hallway beds were back because we just have way too many people and even the joint commission was like you do what you gotta do and they never let things slide

I'm in North Florida and I haven’t had to take myself or my son to the ER lately (luckily, knock on wood!) but my dad has decided to have a few health scares recently and the ERs and hospitals here don't seem to be too overcrowded. I wouldn't be surprised if we see it more in the coming months though, with people losing their healthcare coverage and cold and flu season coming, especially when hardly anyone is vaccinating for Flu and COVID, I could see things getting bad this coming winter.

My husband is a ER nurse. The reason is they can’t turn away uninsured people away. Back in the day uninsured people would go to a county hospital now they can walk into any hospital thus causing the people that have insurance to wait 1000 hours.

I don’t feel like you summarized well what pieces of the BBB is contributing and how. Is it because the bill cut subsidies for the marketplace and now all those people are showing up at the emergency rooms because they can’t be denied care?

I’m wondering if this started last year. I went to ER in an ambulance with a severely broken ankle while the other was badly sprained. They quickly badly wrapped one ankle gave me crutches & a walker to leave. I couldn’t walk. I was literally pushed into an uber. I’ve never understood why.
