I think people don’t realize that this has been going on for decades and they are usually shipped to Mexico for dog food. They are considered an invasive species on grazing land, so they have been making more efforts to trap and sterilize but it is WAY more expensive and time consuming. I’m happy this is getting so much traction now, but just research BLM round ups and you’ll see. ALSO worth noting that auctions are also a huge pipeline for horses being shipped to slaughter (really common with Amish horses). We are getting a mustang this week that was in a helicopter round up and he’s going to have the BEST life!! ❤️
