@unapologeticallyafter: Struggling financially after cancer is not a personal failure. It is a system failure. You are allowed to be thankful for your life and furious about the price of saving it. You are allowed to ask for itemized bills, payment options, hospital social workers, and financial assistance. You are not being difficult. You are surviving. #lifeaftercancer #cancerbills #financialtrauma #cancerdebt #insuranceisnotfree #medicaldebt #survivorship #postcancercost
We spent $2 billion a day on a war when Americans can’t even afford to fight cancer.

Why universal healthcare is not a major concern and a huge item that people are pushing their political representatives for amazes me the craziness of this country other countries believe in taking care of their citizens, keeping them healthy in America was just drain every ounce of money out of them until they're absolutely broke

My wife battled cancer for 2 years. By the 2nd year, she needed a full time nurse to take care of her. Insurance only allowed a nurse visit twice a week for 4 hours per visit. I ended up having to learn to become a nurse and care for her myself. That and with all the hospital visits, medications, etc… we ended up losing our life savings and she passed away anyway.

I have stage 4 colon diagnosed in February. In Canada. 2 Chemos and immunotherapy every 2 weeks. Tonnes of X rays, scans, appointments, haven’t paid a dime for that. I’m maybe out of pocket 300 dollars in prescription meds over the last 6 months, due to my work group insurance. Everything else paid by the universal health care system that a certain country finds communist. Even though most other modern countries have variations of this.

I wish more Americans knew and voted on this. America is a pay to be treated and survive system profit over ppl. ACA “attempted” to improve and fix this, than tRump and Republicans destroyed it with death and thousand cuts.

We had insurance for my husband and still put out 14,000 in one year. And he was out of work for six months. How do you heal with all that stress.
