Here we go round the prickly🍐 :
I save a lot of things sometimes just because I tend to need them just after I threw them out, BUT, my rule is if I can't use it within a year, it's done and goes in the trash. If I don't feel like waiting a year to remember if I've used it or not, I also throw it (but fair warning, my mom was a hoarder, so I have a bit of trauma so I trash things quicker than some).

honestly get rid of it all. if it doesn't already have a use, or a reason why you brought it into the house, then throw it away. empty containers aren't worth keeping, none of this really is worth keeping. it's all trash, just because you "can use it for something else" doesn't mean you ever will. and like someone else in the comments added, if you need to ask the question "are we hoarders" to begin with, then your situation has gotten to a point where you have too much useless shit around. I been through this mannnny times over my lifetime and it always ends the same. I never throw anything away and things never change. until you make the change happen by jus dumping everything without asking these pointless questions at each item

The Glow stick trash. The cardboard drink holders, if you have a fireplace yes you could use it for a fire starter. Or if you're having a fire outside, yes if not just recycle it.

If you have a designated aria for crafts suplys Id say absolutely keep random stuff but if its just misilaniously shoved in random cornors hell nah. The way I think of it is if its in the craft suplys aria and it has potential keep if it not or dosnt fit there frow

My rule I like for myself isn’t “does it bring me joy”, it’s “does it have a home or can I find a home for it?” I have a lot of random stuff for art but it all has a home or I create space for it! I’ll also store stuff I’m unsure of keeping in a box and if I can’t remember what was in that box after a while, the whole box gets donated/recycled/etc.!
