The USA is not only a huge consumer of oil it also "controls" a large part of the world's oil reserves by relationships, such as with Canada, but also through war luke in the middle east. The country that "controls" the most oil will be the "reserve currency" or "petro dollar" because oil & gas are the energies that power economies. No energy, you have no economy.
