It breaks my heart when he looks to his mom for comfort or support and she just makes an excuse for his father’s behavior

the DETAILS of this movie, the unspoken lore, is so good. The "evil witch" who was actually a little girl was called a witch because she could see and speak to ghosts, just like Norman. Her name was Agatha Penderghast. Norman's uncle, who could also see and speak to dead people, his mom's brother, was Uncle Penderghast. The ability to see dead people was genetic and passed down from Agatha to Norman. And for centuries it was Agatha's own ancestors, using the ability she gave them through their bloodline, keeping her at bay until Norman came along and actually TALKED with her.

He was able to save Agatha because he could understand her. He was able to reach that scared sad little girl because he was a sad little boy😭

As a child,i didn't pay much attention to his parent's behaviour towards him. As a adult, it breaks my heart. They really let him down

I've always saw this movie as an allegory to severe depression. Norman feels deeply alone and unseen, shunned for being different by his peers and family and no one understanding him, even his friend doesn't understand but tries to.

his dad being adamant and shamed about something that WASNT HURTING ANYONE. how hard would it have been to just... support your child? oh Gramma is here? ask her this question for me? outside is scary cuz you see them everywhere? let's not make you walk everyday alone. also makes me feel so bad for the uncle image his whole life was like that too

As a kid who struggled with hallucinations all my life. I felt the same way. I felt insane, and out of place. I still see stuff I just no longer tell anyone.
