Reality is we need to not only reduce spending by $2T but also raise taxes by $1T for 40 years to pay off the existing debt.

tax the rich!!! the cost of all of this needs to come from them instead of the remaining 90% of the population that can't afford it!

582 days to go from an economy improving monthly to the brink of financial ruin. Remember to vote blue this midterm, we lack checks and balances in the government and it’s driving our country off a cliff.

I think they’re going to choose the route that’s in kicks the can down the road so that the politicians can say that the fall didn’t happen on their watch. But I also think there’s another potential problem with American debt: nobody trusts the American government anymore. The world is selling off their bonds saying that American fiscal instability and their untrustworthy administration is the reason. So Bessent might go out and buy back $1 trillion worth of their bonds and find out nobody’s coming back to buy more unless the interest rate is so high that everyone everyone’s willing to take the risk on a country that’s backstabbed everybody. I think America is clueless about what the rest of the world thinks. They’re throwing little “proud to be a merkin” parties and think the rest of us are jealous. But America has shown us they’re going to attack us. Just look at what they did to Canada, and when Canada walked away from their dirty deal their response was to rename Lake Ontario to Lake America. There’s a bunch of toddlers running things there. So I wouldn’t be surprised if America ends up in a worse place if they follow Bessent’s methodology and find out that when you bite the hands that feed you…they stop feeding you. Nothing’s going to save them from this mess. It’s comes down to how long can they rob Peter to pay Paul before Peter and Paul just don’t come to the party anymore.

I’ve been saying the house of cards is going to collapse for decades. Not because of this catastrophe, but because I’ve watched the American public have an extremely out of balance spend vs recover practice.
I’ve been in healthcare for over 20 years, and this is just one facet that I’ve always mentioned but many of us saw, is that people coming into the hospital multiple times a week because they are so poor but can’t be turned down because it’s an emergency service. Even when they have literally nothing wrong with them. They would get free x-rays, free labs, free room & board until they had to be discharged, at which point they would meander around outside sometimes for a day or so before coming back in.
This has been something going on for decades. I saw this in the 90s, the 2000s, all the way up till today. Long before the economic crisis of today.
Point is it was like this with welfare housing. People who weren’t working but having children, so they were getting more money from the government for having kids while living in government housing and getting food stamps.
It became more beneficial to do nothing and have the government pay them than to seek hard work and improve their quality of life. Sad state of affairs. But then our tax dollars are also seen going here and there in the hundreds of millions to foreign countries.
There’s a number of scenarios that show themselves like this where corrupt bureaucrats miss allocate money that we don’t have. They’re all corrupt. Republicans and Democrats with only one or 2% who are for the American people alone. The water is drying up. The money is drying up. And I know for many of us we’ve been seeing it coming for decades. But my heart goes out to the younger crowd, because it’s more of an abrupt halt for them. Same as my children. What kind of future will they have?
Christ is King…. And Epstein didn’t kill himself.
