@amosmulbah305: HMMMM 🤔 — WHEN JUSTICE BECOMES A QUESTION OF POWER 💔🇱🇷 “HMMMM…” 🤔 If these reports are true that my wife, Jewel Howard Taylor, has today been sent to prison, then as a husband and as a human being, there are no words deep enough to describe the pain in my heart. I can accept political disagreement. I can accept criticism. I can even accept that anyone accused of wrongdoing must face investigation. But I cannot accept a justice system that treats people differently depending on who they are, who they know, or who holds power. Liberia, look into the mirror. 🇱🇷💔 Is justice truly blind in our country—or does justice sometimes open one eye when the powerful are involved and both eyes when the vulnerable are involved? Today it may be Jewel. Tomorrow, it could be someone else's mother, wife, husband, son, daughter, or innocent citizen. Let me be clear: an allegation is not a conviction. An accusation is not proof of guilt. If there is evidence, let that evidence be presented openly. If there is a crime, let the law take its course. But if someone is innocent, do not destroy their life simply to satisfy public anger or political interests. Liberia has suffered too much from injustice, selective accountability, political persecution, and institutions that sometimes appear stronger against ordinary citizens than against those connected to power. And that is why this moment should not only be about Jewel Howard Taylor. It should make every Liberian ask: Who protects the innocent when the system itself becomes their greatest enemy? Who investigates the investigators? Who holds power accountable when power controls the institutions meant to protect justice? And perhaps the most painful question of all: If justice can be bent for one person, whose turn will it be tomorrow? 😭💔 I don't ask Liberians to believe Jewel is innocent simply because she is my wife. I ask Liberia to demand evidence before judgment, due process before condemnation, and justice before politics. Because a nation does not become strong when it sends people to prison. A nation becomes strong when even its most hated or politically inconvenient citizens can stand before the law and receive a fair hearing. HMMMM… 🤔 Liberia, are we building a justice system—or are we building a system where justice depends on who has power? History is watching. And one day, our children will ask us what we did when justice itself was crying. 🇱🇷💔😭 — CHARLES G. TAYLOR A painful reflection from a husband, a father, and a man watching the woman he loves face the weight of the Liberian justice system. #Liberia 🇱🇷 #JusticeForAll #RuleOfLaw #DueProcess #Justice 🤔
