I kept reading about this dairy. Canada bought $1.4 billion worth of dairy from the United States in 2025. We bought 700 million. They have an economy way smaller than us yet. We want them to allow access to our entire economy, they would have no farmers left.

You're right about tariffs (although it's worth noting that Canada is just as stupid to threaten counter tariffs, for the same reasons you note). However, there are some genuinely anti competitive trade policies in Canada focussed on a handful of industries (dairy, potatoes, eggs, etc) that Americans should be aggrieved about. Also, the Canadian bargaining strategy almost begs for an irrational response in order to get the discussions on track.
