There are times in life when we feel lost, broken, scared, or unsure of what comes next. But the Bible reminds us again and again that we are never truly alone when we have God. Deuteronomy 31:8 says, “And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee.” Even when we cannot see what God is doing, He is still working.
When you are afraid, remember Isaiah 41:10: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God.” God does not promise that life will never be difficult, but He promises that He will be with us through the difficulties. Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” When everything around you feels like it is falling apart, you can run to God because He is your safe place.
When you feel weak, remember that you do not have to carry everything by yourself. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Your strength does not have to come from yourself. God can give you the strength to keep going when you feel like you cannot take another step.
When you are worried about the future, give those worries to God. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” You may not understand why something is happening right now, but you can trust the One who sees the entire picture.
When your heart is hurting, remember Psalm 34:18: “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.” God is especially close to those who are hurting. Your tears do not scare Him away. Your pain does not make Him love you less.
When you feel like you have made too many mistakes, remember that God’s mercy is greater than your past. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” You are not defined by the worst thing you have ever done. Through Christ, you can be forgiven, changed, and made new.
When you wonder whether God really loves you, look at John 3:16: “For God so love
