They absolutely should have never removed the original bathtub scene. That was so vital to the impact of the story. People don't think about what happens immediately after they decide to do this. All the movies skip from the decision to the funeral. The mother's raw reaction, her "no no no no, you're okay, you're okay" was so painful. Anyone considering this NEEDS to see that it's not neat and poetic. It's devastating on every single level.

I saw the original before it was removed. I don't think any of it was glorification but unaliving yourself is a documented behavior that has copycats because of its link to severe mental illness, I believe. That's why they removed it

As someone who saw the original scenes. The original scene showed the raw emotion and reactions in those situations. And the broom scene was awful. That should and always be removed. That was like a horror movie.
