I’m in third year now but in first year my parents and I cried a lot when I left and noticing how different things feel and then you slowly adjust. Call them, FaceTime them, send letters. Do whatever you need! It’s difficult but it’s so worth it. And it’s not forever, you can do this!!

you can't feel guilty for wanting to move on with your life and better yourself. it is horrible and they will cry but that's normal. if it wasn't now it would be when you moved out eventually anyway

go hun you’ll be back for the holidays!!! i saw mine start crying as i was driving off to move in for the first time, but before we knew it, it was christmas and i was back for a whilee (easter and summer alike). you’ll have fun <3
