I think what’s very important. Here is that it happens immediately after childbirth whereas Lindsay Clancy seem to claim that this was happening to her 6 to 8 months after.

I was in labor for 52 hours and then my baby wouldnt sleep longer than 30ish minutes, my mind convinced me my baby looked like someone I have a restraining order against for attacking me (he didnt) and I wanted to get rid of him. fortunately for me it was very short lived but it was scary

Everything described does in fact happen in other psychoses… minus the labor. I have seen it with my own eyes in a manic psychotic state. Cognitive, mood, and psychotic symptoms. Also loss of reality and times of lucidity.

This is interesting to learn. But can we stop blaming sleep and start considering the absolute CRASH of hormones? I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to get people — lawyers doctors patients, literally anyone — to discuss the hormonal impacts of child birth. Like get these boomer men who still believe that postpartum mental disorders can only happen within the first few weeks of childbirth off the stand. It takes most women several YEARS after childbirth for their hormones to fully stabilize. That’s the primary concern. Add loss of sleep etc and it’s a dangerous situation. But I’m so so so sick of the exclusion of the impact of hormones in this (and so many other) situations.
