I was raised by republicans and dragged to Baptist Church every week. you have to truly deconstruct, not just the information but the whole thought process. Our whole culture has been damaged by evangelical Christianity and a lot of people move away from it without ever really thinking deeply about it.

It's interesting to think about, like for me my family was conservative, but it was not like the climate we have now. It wasn't a huge topic of daily conversation. I watched Sesame Street, it wasn't too "woke" for them. Religion was a bigger thing. I left all that in the 80s when I went to college. My brother, cousins, everyone in my generation did the same. You can't escape the effects of growing up in this society, no matter how your family is though, I understand that. I wonder if it's better or worse for someone coming of age more recently?
