My adorable son is hard of hearing and often does not know how loud he is being. We were walking into a coffee shop one time and he saw a man smoking in the parking lot. He yelled at me, “Mom, he’s smoking! That’s a bad choice!” I told him that yes, that was not a good choice, but it was his choice to make, and we don’t get to decide what other people do with their bodies. The man glared at us, and threw his cigarette on the ground, to put it out, which of course prompted my son to yell, “AND!!! He’s LITTERING!!!!!!” He was four years old at the time. Still one of my favorite memories.
