I saw your repost earlier! I LOVE him, when i got into Ashtanga yoga 9yrs ago he was one of the ones I listened to alot as a bridge of wisdom in my practice. he helped interpit the eastern philosophies for the western audiences. what a gem of a human, so real tho. its useful to me as a Hermeticist because classically our practice isnt really built around accepting a set of proportions simply because an authority tells us its true, the Corpus Hermeticum repeatedly frames spiritual knowledge as something that is "experienced, contemplated, and transformed into knowing." Belief can get you to the doorway, faith is what makes you willing to walk through it, but gnosis is what happens when you've actually encountered what you were seeking. Faith doesn't necessarily mean certainty either, but trust in the possibility that reality is intelligible, and that disciplined engagement can "reveal" something about it...or "I am willing to orient myself toward this truth, and discover whether it proves itself through experience." our practice places an ENORMOUS importance on discernment as well, because personal experience isnt automatically infallible knowledge either. That's why contemplation, reason, correspondence, practice, and discernment matter. I sort of have a blind faith going into my work here n there when uncertainty feels higher than the risk, but allowing that wiggle room abit changes fear to awe always too surprisingly. but the suspension of inquiry, can also be flipped to willingness to undertake the inquiry for the possibility it may be true.🥰🫶
