if your home was mine and i had $$$ id make that building into bigger home gym.... looks like ya have kids... around middle school high school having equipment like a home gym they can stay active and fit make sports teams... you may be able to put in those bubble tube skylight.. in that small area to get natural light in and make that the office...

I like the idea of turning the little building into the office area. It’s not like you can’t always switcharoo as your needs change, but it’s nice to keep work and home life visually separate.

People work in warehouses and cubicals all the time 🤷🏻♀️schedule your breaks. Get outside when you take them. It’s totally workable!

Separating the work space from the house is a great idea. People always recommend separating places that your brain thinks of as rest and work zones. Since it can affect your motivation, as can the general state of the space around you. Which is why the space under the stairs wouldn't work long term.

primary closet should be in the hidden room and then the home office in the closet's space. Having a window can be very beneficial for your health cause natural light helps keep your body's rhythm in check and also give you small doses of vitamin D but whatever you choose will look great!

Are you going to add a bathroom to the gnome home? I can only imagine walking over there in the pouring rain, 100 degree days, or snow storms….Where I’m at, we have bad winters and hot af summers. Definitely would rather have an office connected to the house…
