Musa wasn’t informing Allah of something Allah didn’t know. He was advising Prophet Muhammad S.A.W to ask Allah for mercy, and Allah had already known and willed the entire exchange. Allah knows what we need before we make dua, yet our requests still have meaning and purpose. Likewise, the reduction displayed Allah’s mercy and gave us the reward of 50 prayers while only requiring five. The conversation shows the prophets’ concern for humanity; it does not suggest any limitation in Allah’s knowledge. Otherwise, we could also ask why we make dua when Allah already knows what we need.

what baffles me is that the 5 prayers aren't mentioned in the quran but only 3, until I looked up an old religion called Zoroastrianism and it had the exact same number of prayers... so was the mentioning of the white horse with wings on Israa and Miiraj night.... so I don't know....

its just a story to show us each prayer is worth 10 times its value, by Allah's mercy. its like arabian nights, cool stories with life lessons. i doubt its a legit historical event abt prophet's journey.

This hadith is blasphemy, it is designed to portray the Prophet as the one bringing us mercy from the cruel prescription of fifty prayers from Allah. In the hadith he gets it reduced after multiple requests, so he literally bargains with Allah.

I truly always agree with your posts and I love your insight so much. But I always thought it was like a lot of the other stories we have in Islam that obviously Allah knows the truth and the ending, but we hear about the full story as a way to apply it to our lives. So I used to think the moral of this story was to know how raheem Allah is, like it does correlate with the verse you quoted - BECAUSE Allah doesn’t burden a soul with more than it can bear, he gave us only 5 obligatory prayers. This is just me thinking out loud btw!!

I don’t think this is right, Allah does everything for a purpose, by this logic a lot of things would be false for example, in the time of prophet isah alcohol was permissible and only became haram after an incident in prayer being said wrong and then he was made an example and for Muslims alcohol became haram. Somtimes he creates these scenarios that are impactful and help guide us through our deen. This Hadith has multiple teachings for us which is why Allah commanded 50 to begin with and let’s the prophet go back and forth for his people.
