strategist here: metrics on edu / value based content tends to look lowest. it’s less about views and more about saves / shares. people are less likely to comment on that type of content but those 10 saves? people who need it and are more likely to act on it in a good way.

I work in social media. The background music on some of your response videos is too loud it’s distracting and then you’d benefit a lot from adding subtitle captions! It just is something visual and also makes the information easier to digest. Or text summarizing the key takeaways on the advice but text video captions would be the easiest

I’m a social media manager. Even response videos should have an intro / hook above. I just scrolled to look for one and saw a response comment you were doing about binge eating but in the first 3 seconds I knew nothing about who you are why you were answering and even what the question was bc it was small. Gotta use on screen text.

I have a question, for anyone who can help me. I have a friend with an ED, and I think hearing her talk about food, weight, etc. the way she does, so frequently, is starting to get into my head, and I’m worried that I'm starting to have those thoughts for myself. And I feel really selfish for feeling this way because I know she’s struggling and I genuinely want to support her. I just don’t know how what to do.

It’s bc you prompt engagement by getting them to comment questions. It’s a discussion post style video, which always do well. That’s why you see so many “I’m bored, tell me ___” formatted videos on here. Vs informative content where the viewer decides whether or not it is relevant or interesting to them and mostly passively listens. I tend to just let them be what they are and trust that if someone needs it, they’ll drop in. But if you want to optimize the informative content, you do need a punchy hook, something that tells the viewers what they’ll get out of the video or shocks them into presence a little. And then if you prompt them to engage with a question in the comments, it will help the analytics and boost the community feeling.

When answering Questions, build the Video as if it was a topic thats always been your special interest and you just really wanted to share this Info for others. Refer to the question only in the description

background music is unnecessary but also tiktok is extremely oversaturated in content department these days, it takes way longer to build an audience. but you are funny and speak at a great pace, i also if you're not already doing it recommend you to cross post between platforms because exact same content can get very different levels of engagement based on platform. it's a bit of luck unfortunately

The information is incredibly important, so if you have the capacity for it you should continue! One thing I’ve noticed is the background music on them makes me want to speed/skip.

it’s probably because asking for comments boosted the other video now your not getting as many comments = less engagement = tiktok thinking people like these videos less

yeah I PROMISE it's nothing you did, it's tiktoks algorithm that's fucked, not in a government-conspiricy way, just bc it's done almost entirely by ai. I'm sure your videos were AMAZING and if the people who commented were shown that content that they'd love it, chances are they just aren't being shown it at all
