put a mark on that pan. go back to the dealership have them do the oil pan. when you get the car back with the same pan. file a police report press felony charges for fraud then file a civil suit.

my favorite is when they brought out the dirtiest air filter tried to tell me i needed mine replaced and told me it would be $90. but i changed the air filter 10 minutes before i brought it to the dealership 🤣🤣

Veteran Service Advisor here…THIS is why I require video or photos of anything recommended by a tech. I have more business than I can handle and not enough techs. We don’t need to lie to make money. Now if I can throw in some other stuff that is know for failure, for a customer with an aftermarket warranty well……🤷🏻♂️

That is not a dealership issue, that’s a terrible technician issue. I would fire that tech immediately if that was in my shop. Also why we use video inspections.

Car X in crystal lake Illinois told me I needed a new battery and told me it would cost me 250 bucks to replace. I said no thanks and hooked it up to my battery tester and it showed it at 80%. Hmmmmm🤔

Work for a local shop. We don’t have cheap oil changes. The stuff we recommend are things they actually need. We walk them out and show them these things. We quote them, if they decline them, we back the vehicle out. No scheme, no guilt. If it’s major safety, I explain that. If they shouldn’t drive it, I explain that. Economy is rough, do we get a lot of sales? No. Do I complain? No. They’ll come back, and I’ll fix it at some point when they can afford it. If you can’t be honest, why would you even bother be in this field?
