@philippinestar: LEADING OR MISLEADING? Atty. Kristine Ferrer of the defense team and private prosecutor Atty. Lorna Kapunan defended each of their statements on the issue of “misleading questions” during the 19th day of the impeachment trial. “Before I start with my cross-examination, just to put the record straight, your honor. When I said they are allowed, I was referring to leading questions, your honor,” Ferrer said on Wednesday. “Because the journal dated August 12, [2026], would show that I was indeed asking a leading question before Atty. Kapunan objected, your honor,” she added. Kapunan countered Ferrer’s statement, maintaining that she was referring to misleading questions saying, “The statement of counsel is misleading because it was very clear, it was very clear and the transcripts will show that the immediate phrase which led to my remark was not about leading, it’s about misleading, your honor.” “If I heard it, if the whole legal profession heard it, if this courtroom heard it, if the outside audience heard it, then it must be it is what it is.
