@veronica.socal: A major update for Orange County residents impacted by the Garden Grove chemical tank emergency. A $100 million claims program has been established for residents and businesses affected by the May evacuation surrounding the GKN Aerospace facility. According to CBS Los Angeles, claims may include expenses such as: • Hotel stays • Meals and transportation • Lost wages • Loss of use The May emergency forced approximately 50,000 residents in six neighborhoods to evacuate because of concerns surrounding a compromised chemical tank. Why this matters: Families and businesses may have spent significant amounts of money—or lost income—because they were forced to leave their homes and businesses. This program could provide reimbursement for some of those losses. Important: Details on exactly how to apply have not yet been released. I'll share the information when it becomes available.
