This scene was always especially interesting to me because, (as we see later) Frieren kills demons on sight, and without mercy. Here, she engages him in conversation, and allows hi take his time in formulating a response, going so far as to offer him an intentionallly painless death (even if she knows he’d never take it). She seemingly had an immense respect for his magical skills
