@sachistorymuseum: August 26th is National Dog Day! We actually have quite a few letterpress cuts of dogs to choose from in our print shop exhibit but one is more special than all the historic ones. For today, Jared letterpress printed a linoleum cut that depicts his almost three year old basset hound named Jethro with his front legs leaning on a tree. This was carved by a colleague at his other job. Typeset in 24 point Caslon font above the linocut states, “Don't go barking up the wrong tree!” This was printed with red oil base ink using a 4x6 Golding Official No. 2 tabletop printing press, which was made in 1919. Twenty prints were made on this press run. #SacHistoryMuseum #NationalDogDay #dogs #museumtok #printing
