There’s a reason why this isn’t a mainstream product. The mechanism is small and fragile, and a nightmare to fix when it malfunctions or fails. Normal blinds have a more durable mechanism and are easily repaired or replaced.

my father made patent of something similar in 2008. with added glass in front of existing window. unfortunately that's expensive af, so nobody was buying it. exterior blinds are almost same cost and it makes more work to temperature.
