This is me accessing my port and setting up my 18-hour TPN—aka how I get all of my nutrition since my stomach doesn’t work like it should. TPN (Total Parenteral Nutrition) is IV nutrition delivered through a port in my chest. Because of gastroparesis (stomach paralysis), my digestive system can’t process food properly—so every calorie I take in goes directly into my bloodstream. I run TPN for 18 hours a day, which means I’m connected most of the time. It’s a lot to manage on top of life and parenting, and after a long weekend, I just needed to keep this edit simple. I filmed the full process, but I didn’t include every single step in this edit—especially the repetitive sterile ones—because I was beat. Trust me, I do them.
