He disappeared from his home, and then his family received messages claiming that Jignesh had been kidnapped and that the kidnappers were demanding $5,000 in ransom for his release. They even threatened to kill him if the money wasn’t paid. To make the story look convincing, Jignesh recorded a video of himself. He tied up his own hands and body, covered his mouth with a piece of cloth, and acted as if he were being held hostage. But there was one obvious problem: the video was found on his own phone. After examining the footage, police realized that the scene looked more like a staged setup than an actual kidnapping. The video even showed that after posing as a “hostage,” Jignesh could easily remove the cloth from his mouth and untie himself. Police followed the clues and began checking hotels and accommodations in the area. Eventually, they found Jignesh alive and well in a hotel.
