@forbesmiddleeast: Russian skydiver Sergey Boitsov has set a new world record for a jump from a hot-air balloon after leaping from an altitude of 11,551 meters over Russia’s Altai region. Boitsov reached a speed of 501 kilometers per hour during a free fall that lasted approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds before he deployed his parachute at an altitude of 1,565 meters. According to Russian sources, the feat surpassed the previous record in the same category, which stood at 10,060 meters.
