Saladin was arguably the better man. Don’t get me wrong Baldwin was a great king and human being too. But the patience and wisdom of Saladin made him the better person during this whole situation. Fun fact he is a very intriguing person just like Baldwin is but he was revered by Christians and Muslims alike even Christian kings. Regardless of your religion. Understand that Baldwin is up there, high up there with one of the greatest Christian kings to ever live but Saladin as a man and human being makes him and his legacy unmatched for those who know their history and I’m a devout Christian. I revere Baldwin but I also am informed enough to know that Saladin was a great man and human being and leader.

one of my all time favourite films, there are some truly beautiful moments in it. theres a line in the beginning 'your enemies will know your quality before you ever meet them' or something like that. it was a beautifully written line of dialogue
