Sheikh Khaled Zeidan and Hajj Abdullah Chami stood alongside Prime Minister Gough Whitlam at the grand opening of Lakemba Mosque — helping establish and build what would become one of Sydney’s most iconic mosques. And the story didn’t end there. After helping build Lakemba Mosque, they went on to purchase 2 acres of land in Greenacre 42 years ago — the very site where our new masjid is now rising.
